Xixo wanted a responsive video background for the main banner section of their site. There a many ways to accomplish on a self-hosted site, but due to Shopify’s file size limit we needed to host the video on YouTube. I built this section using YouTube’s API, allowing the video to be displayed without controls or branding. Using the API also allowed me to give the client control over video options, such as autoplay, via the section customization settings.
